Road Trip - Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor

Home tonight from our latest road trip. The Route 66 Carpet Corridor. We've spent the last couple of days traveling from Joliet, Illinois to Lincoln, Illinois, along the Historic, Old Route 66.

We began with a quick stop to Joliet Area Historical Museum. After a few photos there and a stop at the gift shop we moved on to the little towns that are ever 10 miles or so along Route 66. We stopped at yardsales, sidewalk sales, garage sales and driveway sales. There were several little fleamarkets and craft shows also along the way.

Late in the afternoon Saturday we made it to Pontiac where we visited their Historic Museum which included works of photography by Michael Campenelli, 3 swinging bridges, we did a geo-cache, had dinner, fed the ducks at the park and spent the night at the beautiful Three Roses Bed and Breakfast.
